Political Ad Overload

While attemping to watch the evening news, I was subjected to ELEVEN political ads.  One was shown twice in one commercial break, with an ad for her opponent in between. These people are running for Congress in a different district than the one that I live in. They are arguing over whether Darcy Burner’s computer science degree with a specialization in economics from Harvard  counts as a degree in economics or not. Don’t get me going on the vindictive ads that governor Gregoire and Rossi are running, but at least I had a say in that election. I have no say in that other congressional district. Yep I could change the channel but there are just as many ads on the other channels. I am frustrated because I want to watch the news, there is a lot going in my city, state, country and the world that are independent of the election that will thankfully be over tomorrow.

I sent in my absentee ballot in last week. Shouldn’t I get a reprieve from the bickering, backstabbing and often ridiculous ads?!?!
